Bottom line: The purpose of facilitation is to increase effectiveness. Facilitation enhances work flow, communication, and relationships.
Experienced Career Management Associates facilitators are available for team development, planning sessions, training and development sessions, and discussions related to organizational change, design, and leadership succession.
A facilitator who is not connected to the work or the work team can provide the neutrality that is essential in moving a group forward during planning sessions, board meetings, or sessions designed to resolve work group or team issues. The facilitator has the responsibility to provide a process in which a group can have the potential to increase the capacity to solve problems, make decisions, and to work together. The facilitator temporarily manages the process while the client (and team) focuses on the defined issues, problems, or opportunities. These skills can also be transferred to the team through modeling and practice sessions.
A developmental approach to facilitation can be used as part of the agreement with the client. This approach is used when the facilitator’s observations about how the group interacts, makes decisions, and solves problems are offered to the group as feedback. Neutral perceptions about strengths, barriers to effectiveness, and missed opportunities can
promote the development of the group and better prepare members for ongoing discussion
and follow-up.
Self-managing, high-performance teams understand the power of facilitation. Career Management Associates can work with you and your team to learn and master the art of effective process facilitation – or we can facilitate your team’s interaction when necessary for achieving specific goals.
