Building the capacity of your organization requires an exploration process driven by a thorough assessment of your organization's capacity in terms of leadership, management, process and the ability to deliver service. The exploration begins with a 360-degree, holistic and strategic assessment of organizational health. The assessment focuses on benchmarks in such areas as leadership, planning, human resources, products and services, communications, facilities, financial management, revenue generation, and public image.
Organizational assessment is a key element of strategic planning, but is not in and of itself a strategic planning process. Prior to beginning a new strategic planning process, it is advisable to conduct an organizational assessment in order to understand institutional strengths and capacities, as well as to identify and address potential weaknesses or deficiencies.
